Background Autistic adults with intellectual disabilities (ID) seem to be particularly vulnerable potentially traumatic experiences and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Furthermore, this population may at risk for a different set of than the general population. However, knowledge is sparse concerning PTSD symptom manifestations in individuals severe ID.Method Exploration trajectories an adult, autistic man ID.Results Altered arousal/reactivity problematic avoidance were most easily observable symptoms. Avoidance seemed become more generalised over time, impact on behaviour, level functioning, quality life was severe.Conclusions Negligence coercion services ID involve potential these individuals. Increased awareness needed service providers mental health professionals.
